Ambassador’s Mission
You don't have to know kung fu or look good in a tuxedo to become an Ambassador. Your most important role as an ambassador is to raise awareness to the project!
On top of that, your intellect, networking skills, and dedication to getting EVERYONE you know (or don't know!) to sign up and participate is crucial to the success of our mission.
As a Babelverse Ambassador, your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to achieve one or more of these objectives:
- Spread the word about Babelverse… by any means possible
- Enthusiastically participate in topical online discussions
- Identify potential new interpreters & multilingual people and get them to join Babelverse
- Refer potential new users & customers
- Advise about local, cultural & linguistic quirks
- Help organize local meet–ups
- Help localize the Babelverse platform into your native language
- Complete various mini–missions to help the Babelverse project (for this assignment you will receive specific project briefings)
- Bonus points if you’re an active interpreter on Babelverse
- Actively seek out new opportunities to further our global mission
- Change the world by doing the work you love

Ambitious, inspired and dedicated members who rise quickly through our ambassador ranks can be promoted to the position of Official Ambassador. Only the most influential Ambassadors who actively demonstrate passion, leadership, and initiative will be eligible for this special status.
Official Ambassadors spearhead our movement and coordinate the combined efforts of fellow Ambassadors, local language communities, and Babelverse staff. This elite team of experts engage, connect, and collaborate to grow, improve, and influence the Babelverse project.
As an Official Ambassador, over and above standard duties you will be tasked with:
- Local event planning to ignite the Babelverse flame in your hometown or visited cities
- Rolling out the red carpet to welcome and educate Babelverse’s newest recruits
- Periodic online video chats with Babelverse staff and Ambassadors
- Personal verification and vouching for new interpreters
- Point of contact for press in your area and languages

Babelverse Ambassador Handbook
- Ambassadors swear to represent and uphold the Babelverse vision and mission and to act as role models within the the community. These guidelines are a reflection of the higher standard to which all Ambassadors are held, and Ambassadors are expected to demonstrate these qualities at all times.
- Ambassadors are encouraged to share stories and experiences, while always remembering to preserve the privacy of users’ conversations, on the Babelverse site or in any other medium. Our intention is to inspire new members and strengthen the Babelverse community by communicating the most important aspects of what we do – bridging languages and cultures, and having meaningful exchanges.
- When posting publicly about Babelverse on any public website or forum, or when speaking to the media, Ambassadors must differentiate between personal opinions and facts. Every effort should be made to represent Babelverse truthfully and accurately. Official information can be found on the Babelverse website and other official outlets (Babelverse’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, staff posts on the Babelverse official blog, forums, or FAQ pages, etc.)

Who should become an Ambassador?
Any passionate member of the Babelverse community, who thrives on learning and sharing foreign cultures and is driven by sharing their passion and expertise with the world.
How much time will I need to spend as an Ambassador?
As much time as you see fit.
There are no constraints or requirements as to how much time you should spend, as long as you are completing the missions assigned to you.
What's the difference between a Babelverse member and Ambassador?
Being an interpreter on Babelverse is a new, amazing and exciting thing. Every day we work on creating a new lifestyle for our members everywhere, allowing them the freedom to work from anywhere in the world and connect them with clients that otherwise would be more difficult to reach.
However, being an Ambassador represents a larger involvement in the global Babelverse community, allowing you to be part of a network of people that share the same passion for languages & communication without barriers.
Is there a selection process for becoming an Ambassador?
Yes. First you have to apply (tick the checkbox in your profile), and after a review by the Babelverse team, you will be notified if you have been selected to be an Ambassador.
After some time, and seeing you take some initiatives to help grow or improve the community, along with completing a number of tasks, you may be invited to become an Official Ambassador.
What kinds of resources will Babelverse provide?
From private discussion groups for Ambassadors, to FAQs, to answering emails, or even chatting on Skype, we’re here to help, each step of the way. You’ll have access to promotional items, guides and ideas, other ambassadors around the world, and the support of the entire Babelverse team.
What compensation do Ambassadors Receive?
Ambassadors don’t usually receive any monetary compensation for their participation. Any perks or compensation (such as free or discounted credit) should be viewed as a nice bonus but shouldn't be an expectation. Being a an Ambassador isn't a job, it's a mindset and a lifestyle driven by a passion to change the world.
That said, we may invite some of our Ambassadors to join the Babelverse team as we continue to grow.
