Technical Setup
For interpreting on your computer
-
Headphones with Microphone Required
You must not listen through your speakers. Here are some recommended models.
-
Use Chrome
We recommend using Babelverse in the latest version of Google Chrome. In some cases Mozilla Firefox or Safari are an option (we do not support Internet Explorer).
-
Use High–Speed Internet
A high speed, stable and low-latency connection (usually DSL, cable or fiber) is required.
-
Update Flash
Check that you have the latest version of Flash, if not please download it.
-
Check for Appropriate Microphone Settings
Check that your input microphone is correctly selected and is not muted. If you don’t know, you may find that in your computer's help or on this site, otherwise please contact our team.
-
Have JavaScript and Cookies Enabled
Modern browsers have these enabled by default, just make sure you didn’t disable them and don’t have an extension that blocks them. If you don’t know, you may find that in your browser's help or on this site, otherwise please contact our team.
-
Test your Setup
You can check by calling a friend on Skype or Google Hangouts.
